My two little boys are growing up so fast! As they transform into young men, their boys’ bedroom is beginning to look very childish with all those teddy bears, little cars and other toys scattered all over the place. They don’t like it any more and neither do I. So, we decided to shake daddy up a little by asking a few dollars from him and do a little renovation. OK, my husband didn’t see the whole thing as a few dollars, but hey, a completely new and fresh look of a bedroom is totally worth it, right?
After doing the walls and installing new flooring, I came to the moment when I had to choose new beds for the boys. They’re all grown now and they’re going to grow even more, which means I had to choose something that will serve them for quite some time. The problem was, there isn’t enough space in the room for two large single beds to fit in perfectly. So, we went with the alternative, which turned out to be perfectly suitable and unbelievably fancy: a bunk bed for kids.

The good thing about a bunk bed for kids is that you can place them in various positions as your space allows you to. They can be on top of each other, they can be connected with a ladder or one can simple be attached on the ceiling with chains. There are also a lot of bed frames designed as various objects including boats, cars and even small houses which can all be placed on top of another! As impossible and limited as it may sound, the possibilities and options the market offers are truly numerous and amazing, each in their own way.
Aside from the convenience of saving space, bunk beds come in various amazing designs. You can choose one made of wood, which is a great option if you’re looking for sturdiness and warmth in the overall interior design scheme. The other option is metal, which is also great and offers stability, but it’s also kind of cold from a decorative perspective. If you opt for a metal bed frame, make sure you combine it with a lot of pillows, blankets and a lot of warm fluffy bed elements so you break the cold ambiance. After all, it’s a kids bedroom.
We ultimately went with the cutest lumberman themed bedroom with red, black and white elements. The bed we chose is of simple pine wood design with two large drawers beneath which serve as extra space for sleeping pillows and blankets. Combined with the wooden bed frame the entire room design emits warmth, cosiness and style. It also eliminates the childish ambiance the room had before, but still keeps the playful décor suitable for kids.
